Theodore Dryriver. A local artist of  Gumbaynggirr/Indian decent and has lived in the Azure Beach community all his life .   Aunty Nancy Grey Local elder and the very first  Gumbaynggirr woman to train as a  nurse and work at the Azure Beach Base hospital. Eddie Coltrane Moved to Azure Beach when he was 10 years old and was a founder of the local newspaper The Azure Beach Advertiser. Susan Maloney Came up from Melbourne when she was sixteen to work a housemaid on the property "Jacarandas".  Etta  Di Luzzi The Di Luzzi family moved to Azure Beach in the 1950's and opened the iconic Central Café  which is still run by the family and remains a popular local eatery.  Richard "Pop" Larson Enlisted in the army at eighteen and served with Australian Forces in New Guinea. Dr Ellen Ripley Arrived in Azure Beach in the late 1960's to study costal rainforests with the National parks and Wildlife Service.
